Koru Art

This week we created some awesome artwork.  We used pastels and sharpies to create these amazing Koru's.  These Koru patterns represent our families and Whanau, with each frond shape being a member of our family.  We felt amazed and surprised at just how good these Korus look.  Please come into our class and see them.

Week 2: Eels, ducks and more!

This week we went on a small walk to the duck pond close to school.  We came back and wrote about what we saw.  Then a few days later we added adjectives to make our writing more interesting.  A sentence such as "we saw some eels" magically became "we saw some grey, slimey, slippery eels swimming through the dirty muddy water".

Great adjectives Room 16!

We are Room 16!

Here is Room 16 on our awesome first day at school.  Today we got lots of cool stationery, met new friends and played some games.  It was a great first day, but it was really really hot!

Welcome to Room 16 in 2015!

Hi friends and whanau (family) of Room 16!

I hope you all had a great Christmas and enjoyed the sunny holidays.  We are looking forward to sharing our learning with you through our awesome Blog.  Check in every week to see what amazing school experiences we have been having and please leave a friendly message as we check these every week.

Here is a little clue of what I got up to over two incredible days in January.  Can you guess where I rode my bike?

See you soon!
