Skyscrapers Art Gallery Trip

On Tuesday this week we went on a trip to the Auckland Art Gallery.  It is the biggest Art Gallery in New Zealand and we went there because our Inquiry topic is patterns.  We looked at different patterns and symbols in Art.

We got to draw different emotions using lines, looked at lots of different art, create our own juggling art, and we even got to play with lego.

It was a really fun experience to learn about how different artists think when they are making their art.

Come along in week 10 to see our very own Art Gallery in the Skyscrapers block.

Amazing Artwork!

This term we have been learning about patterns in Art.  Below are some samples of our art that will be on display in our Awhina space in Week 10.  The first artwork we did was Victorian stitching.  We started with some easy stitches and then tried some harder ones.  We then tried some abstract modern art (see below).  We had to paint squares, then circles, and we also tried another piece of art using lines and circles.  Its been great fun and we are looking forward to sharing them with you.
